ENVT is involved in many international collaborative projects (teaching, research, etc.).
By offering its pedagogical and technical expertise, ENVT has been involved for several years with its partners in international actions for the development of veterinary and animal health training.
The VAI²P Training project (VETERINARY AND AGRONOMIC INTERNATIONAL AND INNOVATIVE PEDAGOGIC TRAINING) is a collaborative project for the international in-service training of veterinary and agronomic teachers. It aims to strengthen teaching curricula, in order to meet the recommendations on the minimum competences for graduate veterinarians (OIE recommendations, EAEVE accreditation).
VAI²P aim: teaching teams of the same discipline but of different nationalities design educational resources according to the competence-based approach method and with the use of digital tools. The educational resources are co-constructed taking into account the local context, and then co-delivered in situ, in front of the target audience.
VAI²P is supported by ENVF (Écoles nationales vétérinaires de France) and ENSFEA (École Nationale Supérieure de Formation de l’Enseignement Agricole – ENSFEA). ENVF provides scientific and technical support, ENSFEA provides expertise and pedagogical supervision.
The first session of VAI2P started in September 2021 and involved international partners, particularly from Africa. The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Huambo, Angola, IAV Hassan II of Rabat, Morocco, the Agro-Veterinary Faculty of Bila Tserkva, Ukraine and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Saint Hyacynthe, Quebec, are the first pilot partners of VAI²P.
YEDODE « YEDOro tena DEhininet » (Stregthening of food safety in avian industry in Ethiopia)
This project (2021-2023) aims to strengthen food safety in Ethiopia by improving health and safety standards in avian industry, from animal feed to the food products consumed by the population. YEDODE is part of a “onehealth” approach and responds to the strategy of both the French ministry of Agriculture and ministry of Foreign Affairs (financer). It is run by a consortium coordinated by ENSV/FVI in partnership with ENVT and Addis Ababa College of Veterinary Medicine(CVMA).
YEDODE has 4 main components :
ENVT with CVMA is in charge of the scientific and pedagogical management of the project and is heavily involved, deploying its teams and its expertise in avian pathology, virology and epidemiology. The project is supported by the ENVT avian biosecurity unit in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture.
The Twinning Project OIE France Kazakhstan (2014-2019)
Under the supervision of World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), ENVT recently coordinated a twinning program with 6 veterinary faculties in Kazakhstan, under the responsibility of the Kazakh National Agricultural University of Almaty.
This program aimed to match the Kazakh veterinary curriculum with the minimum requirements promulgated by OIE, to identify the tools, the technical means and the resources to improve Kazakh veterinary education and to develop a continuing education program in public health.
These actions allowed to implement bases for veterinary teaching and to show the importance of continuing education for local veterinarians.
Program REVET (Reinforcement of Veterinary Studies in Asian Universities)
The program aimed to create a convergence between European and Asian universities in a context of globalization of exchanges and training.
The objective was to promote and strengthen the veterinary education in the 10 universities in 5 Asian countries (Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, Vietnam and China) in collaboration with the Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canarias (coordinator), the Universidade de Porto and ENVT. Starting from existing curricula, REVET permitted the development of new training courses, continuing education for lecturers as well as mobility of students and lecturers.
ENVT was more particularly involved in the design of an online course on the Bologna process and support for veterinary education in Cambodia (assessment missions and hosting Asian lecturers).
The DietaPYR2 Program: Innovations applied to the Pyrenean beef meat production channel to enhance the value of a meat identifiable by consumers
This European project aimed to disseminate the use of innovative technologies for beef meat industry using indigenous breeds from the Pyrenees as well as highlighting and promoting the particularities of quality meat associated with the unique Pyrenean production system.
Its goal was to help the different stakeholders to cooperate: research centers, transfer centers, and associations of producers and retailers.

Créée en 1825, l’ENVT est la plus ancienne des grandes écoles toulousaines. Sans discontinuer, elle a servi la société en formant le tiers, puis le quart des vétérinaires français et s’honore d’avoir hébergé de grands noms de la profession, cliniciens, chercheurs, enseignants, industriels et décideurs.
